My favourite reading place

Lately I've been enjoying curling up in Casey's bed to read - it's really comfy and smells like her. A few days ago I was quietly reading to myself and I thought mommy and daddy were putting away the clean laundry. Instead they were dressing up my poor puppy in all their clothes!!

My first Smoothie!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit on Saturday and I had fun playing with them and eating some of Grandpa's muffin :-) They also brought mom and dad a new professional smoothie maker so I got to taste some of mommy's "Blueberry Blast" smoothie today - it was so yummy!

A job well done

This is Casey's favourite evening activity after a very busy day of "looking after" Samuel. Her self-imposed job description includes:

-supervising mealtimes periodically to make sure Baby Sam's nutritional needs are met and hands are promptly "cleaned"
-making sure he has ready access to a variety of balls within arms reach should he have a desire to play with them at any given moment
-fixing him ASAP when he cries (she is more successful at this than mom or dad!)
-making sure mommy knows when he is awake from his nap (she will sit outside his door when she hears him wake up)
-supervising bathtimes to make sure Samuel's rubber ducky doesn't drown!
...and those are just a few.....she really is a wonderful help!

A Sunny Birthday in Nanaimo

These are a couple of photos from a walk we did in Nanaimo on Ryan's 30th Birthday last Tuesday. As always Samuel loved riding on Daddy's back and even gave him a bit of a neck massage (with some hair pulls interspersed to release tension of course!). I guess that was his birthday gift to daddy. We stopped at the park near Nana and Papa's house on the way back and Casey tried to "coach" Samuel on how to get up the slide :-)

A cardboard box....possibly the best toy ever!

Samuel LOVED playing inside the box from Nana and Papa's new TV in Nanaimo. He opened and closed the doors Nana cut for him (over & over!), played peek-a-boo, crawled inside and outside of it, put toys inside it and closed the doors.....the possibilities were endless! :-)
