Elk Mountain Hike
We took advantage of a gorgeous sunny day on Saturday and headed up Elk Mountain. Casey was very helpful in pulling Karen up some of the tougher sections :)
At the top we met up with a group of paragliders and enjoyed watching them take off. The wind conditions were perfect so they were able to catch updrafts and soar for a long time. It was great entertainment! Casey was thrilled to see the snow. She loves to eat it and chase after snowballs.

Puppy Love

Our little "fur-born", Casey, has been adjusting well to her life i
n the Wack. She loves her new townhouse because there is plenty of room to chase after her toys. Lately she has been enjoying many naps beside the new fireplace. She also loves the parks and hiking trails nearby. Here are a few pics of our little A.T.P ("All Terrain Puppy")....

Kayaking in Baja!

We just returned from a fantastic kayaking trip to the Espirito Santos islands in the Sea of Cortez. After Ryan's very busy obstetrics rotation it was wonderful to have a holiday together. The weather was hot and sunny every day and we didn't have a drop of rain! Here are some of the highlights...

The quaint little Mexican Inn that we stayed at in La Paz (about 3 hours from Los Cabos) the night before our trip.

Our favorite camping spot on Partida Island - we loved the shade!

We enjoyed hiking in the desert but had to watch out for rattlesnakes!
It was wonderful to have such beautiful beaches all to ourselves!
Enjoying the view...or being lazy??

A Sea Lion Rockery - We went snorkelling here and it felt like we were in an aquarium. The sea lion pups swim right up to you!

Paddling near the mangroves - it reminded us of Thailand

Typical sunset scene

Desert beside the sea

Interesting rock formations!

The pelicans were our morning and evening entertainment. It was amazing to watch them dive for fish right in front of our camp!

Mantarays under the water - we saw many in the shallow sandy bays

A feast of 'super burros' with fresh salsa to end our trip - delicious!!
