Buttle Lake Camping
Strathcona Park

Here are a few photos of my trailer trip to Buttle Lake with mom, dad, nana, and papa. I had a lot of fun hiking canoeing and of course throwing rocks in the water. The other neat thing I got to do was eat huckleberries.

Framing
July 6-21, 2008

Things are really moving along with framing. The roof goes on later this week.

House Construction
March 30 - July 3, 2008

The house is finally under construction after months of planning and waiting.

March 30 - Removing the peeled logs from the lot.

April 11 - Starting to break rock after removing the stumps.



April 15 - More rock breaking. Excavation took 2 weeks.


April 15 - Some of the rock removed from the site. Lots more to come.

April 15 - The start of the rock retaining wall for the back yard.

April 17 - The large retaining wall complete

April 18 - Rock wall back-filled

April 21 - Removing the excess rock off-site

May 31 - Permits finally issued and site prep for foundation is done.
There was a 5 weeks wait since excavation was finished.
Most of this was because of structural engineering delays.

June 3 - Footings completed after just 2 days

June 3 - Pouring footings



June 5 - Insulated Concrete Forms installed



May 31 - Starting the lower rock wall. No room for a machine.



June 7 - I rented a Bobcat to move fill for the lower rock wall. Samuel had fun too.



June 12 - Picking up the water tanks in Delta

June 13 - Foundation poured and stripping forms begun

June 19 - Backfilling underway

June 26 - Crawl space skim coat being poured

July 2 - Framing begun

July 3 - We have a 1st floor

Camping Twin Lake
June 27-29, 2008

My Dad and my Grandpa took me camping over the weekend. I was a little scared at first leaving my mommy and called out for her the first night after getting lost on some logging roads in the bush but by dark we found the campsite and I was relieved. The excitement of getting back to nature kept me up late the first night. The next day we had a fun time hiking and canoeing and even seeing a baby bear in a tree. By far the highlight of the trip was throwing lots and lots of rocks in the water. You can never do that too much. I can't wait for my next adventure so I can throw more.
