December Adventures
We've had some great weekends lately enjoying the crisp wintery days. A highlight was putting up our Christmas tree (the first year we've had the space for one!). Casey loves to curl up in her bed by the fire and stare at the lights on the tree. Ryan also enjoyed a day of backcountry skiing just off the Coquihalla Highway - about an hour from where we live. The conditions were fantastic. We had a super 3-day visit with Brendan, Nadia, and Alexander and Karen's parents at the Family Medicine Forum conference in Vancouver. The guys attended the conference while the girls (and Alexander) had fun in the city. A highlight for 22 month old Alex was riding the escalators and elevators at the hotel :) This past Saturday we enjoyed an afternoon of kayaking at Cultus Lake. We tried out some beautiful cedar-strip boats made by one of the doctors in town. It was great to be on the water again! That night we enjoyed a fantastic Christmas light display at Minter Country Gardens. We're looking forward to a relaxing Christmas in Nanaimo with our families.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everyone!
